The table compares the figures for expenditure on four items (namely food and drink, housing, clothing and entertainment) in five European countries (France, Germany, the UK, Turkey and Spain).
Overall, it is clear that the percentages of money that people in five European countries spend on food and drink, and housing are the highest, while the equivalent figures for the remaining items are significantly less.
The figures for expenditure on food and drink in France, Germany and UK make up 25%, 22% and 27% respectively, while the equivalent percentages of the other countries are higher, standing at 36% (Turkey) and 31% (Spain).
In addition, the proportions of money that people in France, Germany and UK spend on housing account for 31%, 33% and 37% respectively, while the equivalent figures for the other countries are lower, at 20% (Turkey) and 18% (Spain).
The rate of expenditure on clothing in Germany is the highest, accounting for 15%, while the equivalent figures for France and Spain stand at only 7% and 8% respectively.
In addition, the percentages of money that people in five European countries spend on entertainment range from 10% (Turkey) to 19% (Germany).
